November 2017 - February 2018 in pictures
As the weeks and months go by, each member of our family continues to grow, physically or spiritually, acquiring knowledge and skills.
For Claire, this is a phase of wanting to do everything by herself. Her help is greatly appreciated in the kitchen!
Julie, Anna and Claire enjoyed a visit to Daddy's office, a reminder of where he spends a good deal of his days.
On 30th November, we celebrated Carolyn's birthday.
The girls are always thrilled to use their creative skills to make beautiful gifts.
In December, Carolyn played the piano at church again with the Rennes-Sud musicians for the last time before our official change of church.
Since beginning of January, we meet every Sunday morning and Wednesday evening with our lovely Rennes Nord Church team (more information here).
In December, Julie and Anna took part in a Christmas concert with their choir. Julie even conducted one of the songs.
Also in December, friends and neighbours filled our living-room one afternoon to sing Christmas carols. A joyful time to celebrate Jesus' birth around coffee and cakes :-) .
And we enjoyed decorating biscuits for the occasion.
Julie and Anna also read a poem by Jacques Brel, "Dites, si c'était vrai", an invitation to personally reflect on the stories of the Bible.
Just before Christmas, our Agapé Rennes team met up for breakfast to celebrate this special time together.
We then went to Carolyn's parents in Lyon for Christmas.
A Franco-British Christmas with yummy mince pies and Christmas cake.
We enjoyed going up in the Big Wheel to admire the Lyon rooftops, in spite of the freezing wind.
A few snowflakes, or fine hailstones, were turned into mini-snowmen.
Back in Rennes to end the year, we had a family outing to the town-centre where we had a ride in the 1001-legged caterpillar...
... and admired the sound and light show on the front of the Town Hall.
We spent the last hours of 2017 together in the kitchen, dressed up to the nines, preparing yummy petits fours.
2018 started with two birthdays to celebrate : Anna's 8th birthday on 5th January ...
... and Claire's 4th birthday on 16th January.
We are thrilled to see Julie, Anna & Claire developing their artistic skills and very much enjoying to read.
Beginning of February, Julie and Anna also tried out their talent at sport by each running in the "Tout Betton Court" race with children their own age. A great success! Julie came 11th out of 27 and Anna 2nd out of 92. Well done!
Beginning of February, David hosted Agapé France's Digital Committee for two days, to work together on how to use technologies in relevant, wise and efficient ways to help people discover, live and share the Gospel.
And finally, on 18th February, our Rennes-Nord church was able to have its first service outside of our homes. We were delighted to meet in a bigger space where new people were able to join us.
We want to praise God once again for His faithfulness towards us!
