March-July 2025 in pictures
Here's a snapshot of the last few months with the Violleau family.
At the end of March, David spent a week in Birmingham, England's second city, working on a project with colleagues from several European countries. Did you know that there are more canals in Birmingham than in Venice?
In March, Julie passed her driving test. Parents can now sit in the back! 😃
In April, we started our sabbatical.
To start with, David caught up with a few tasks around the house: Chopping and storing wood for the winter...
... trimming the hedges...
... and repotting a few plants. It was nice to spend more time outside.
We installed a trampoline in the garden to let off steam after school. It's a real hit!
Rail bike trip during the school holidays 🚴🚂: 2 hours of pedalling through the beautiful Breton countryside on a railway track. Great family fun!
Our Church hall was full to celebrate Easter.
In May, we had a wonderful week of spiritual retreat in the tiny village of Entrepierres, near Sisteron in the Alpes de Haute Provence. It was a wonderful time of rest, discussion, reflection, prayer and walking in the midst of magnificent scenery.
We had a wide choice of reading material!
The bright Provençal sun didn't shine, but that didn't stop us from taking two lovely walks.
Claire took part in a competition run by Astrapi magazine in January by making a cardboard peacock. She was pleasantly surprised to be one of the winners and to receive gifts at home 🎉👏.
A beautiful open-air service with our Rennes Nord church, with 6 baptisms.
At the end of May, we went to the beach for the first time this year (it had been a long time). Superb sunny day. Vive la Bretagne! 🙂☀️🏖️
Waiting for the results of Parcoursup for Julie's orientation next year 🫣. Suspense... It will be a double degree in science and German at the Sorbonne in Paris! Her first choice! Thank you Lord 🙏
A magnificent concert by the school choir, with whom Anna was singing for the last time. Lots of emotion. And a superb result after a year's work. Well done 👏
A romantic stroll along the coast between Cancale and the Pointe du Grouin 😎🌊. Brittany is so beautiful! 😍
Basketball tournament all day for Claire 🏀. It was intense but her team put up a good fight.
The culmination of a year's work: Anna and her dance club put on a magnificent gala 👏
Anna practising for her oral exam 🙂
Graduation time for the French Bac and German Abitur 🧑🎓.
Fun weekend with the whole Violleau family in two horse-drawn caravans 🐎. A great adventure and lots of good memories. Thank you Mamie and Papy for this wonderful gift ❤️.
It's time to sort through high school courses! 😅
Anna's turn to start driving school: first assessment on a simulator and then the Highway Code to work on over the summer.
Another busy season under the watchful eye of our God! He is faithful and takes care of us.
