Summer's well and truly over and the temperatures here leave no doubt that autumn is here 🍂😊. So here are a few warm memories of our summer through photos of our family life, our Church life and our ministry with Agapé France. At the beginning of July, we hosted a young Italian girl, who came to France with a group of people from a town twinned with our own. We went to see the Normandy landing beaches and the American cemetery with the group of Italians. Very impressive. We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary in July! 💞 We started celebrating with a delicious meal, before flying off a few days later for a week in Corsica, just the two of us. We stocked up on wonderful memories. What a privilege! It's a magnificent island. We spent a few days in Lyon with Carolyn's parents at the beginning of August. Time marches on and yet another school year comes to an end. Here are a few photos of some of the highlights of the last few months for our family and our ministry with Agapé. In March, Claire received a photo album covering the first 10 years of her life. Hours of work went into sorting and formatting these 140 pages. The result is great and reminds us of so many good times we've had together over the last 10 years. We had a great Easter weekend with Carolyn's brother and his wife. Our programme included beautiful celebrations in church for Good Friday and Easter Sunday, climbing trees, crafts and delicious meals. Claire's school opened its doors for their spring exhibition. We admired Claire and her classmates' beautiful creations. During the April school holidays, we enjoyed some spring activities organised in our town, and especially kayaking as a family on the lake. A lot has happened since our last photos on this blog at the beginning of May. Here are a few photos, which will give you a glimpse of our family life and ministry with Agapé since May. In May, we dressed up for David's cousin's wedding in the South of France. Also in May, just before leaving for her 2-month stay in Germany, Julie finished her supervised driving course and started driving our car. Two months later, in mid-July, we met up again with Julie in Germany (here at Felsenmeer or 'the sea of rocks'). And the 5 of us set off for England for our grand tour of the island. Of course, the highlights of our trip were the good times spent with ministry partners and family, but we also enjoyed the English landscapes... ... good meals... ... discovering Swing Ball... ... playing in various parks... ... visiting Warwick Castle... ... and Durham Cathedral... ... where scenes from the Harry Potter films were shot (fans will recognise the places 😊).
