July to October 2024 in pictures

Summer's well and truly over and the temperatures here leave no doubt that autumn is here 🍂😊.
So here are a few warm memories of our summer through photos of our family life, our Church life and our ministry with Agapé France.

At the beginning of July, we hosted a young Italian girl, who came to France with a group of people from a town twinned with our own. We went to see the Normandy landing beaches and the American cemetery with the group of Italians. Very impressive.
We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary in July! 💞 We started celebrating with a delicious meal, before flying off a few days later for a week in Corsica, just the two of us. We stocked up on wonderful memories. What a privilege! It's a magnificent island.
We spent a few days in Lyon with Carolyn's parents at the beginning of August. We also enjoyed seeing some of our faithful partners in our mission with Agapé France again. The photo below was taken in front of Saint John's Cathedral.
We were also able to give an update on our mission in the church where Carolyn grew up.
And someone recommended a good ice cream parlour where David was able to try two unusual flavours: hay and smoked bacon!
We then spent a wonderful weekend with friends close to the Alps.
And we concluded our family holiday with a week's camping in the Auvergne mid-August...
... with some great walks...
... waterfalls...
... and a very refreshing swim for Anna.
Admiring nature and its wonderful creatures brought us great pleasure.
Before heading back to the office, David took a few days to go on a silent retreat at the end of August to start the academic year in intimacy with God, through prayer, reading and reflection.
Just before the start of the new school year, our Agapé Rennes team (and families) got together on a beautiful Breton beach to get the year off to a good start, as we do almost every year.

David spent a few days in Toulouse mid-September, working face-to-face with the Agapé France National Leadership Team (who usually meet every week on a video call).
Julie is already 17 years old!
Claire, our new basketball player :-)
We had a great weekend with our church community at the end of September to welcome new arrivals and deepen our relationships. It is so encouraging to see how much our community is growing.
Mid-October we had a beautiful open-air service to celebrate 4 baptisms. Almost 200 people attended, including the friends and families who had been invited for the occasion.

And finally, at the end of October, Anna and Julie took part in a Christian music camp called Music'Art. After just one week together, the 35 young people put on a superb show, bearing witness to the goodness and power of our God.

We thank the Lord for His faithfulness and His goodness towards us, displayed in particular through all these extracts from our life over the last few months.
