A week in Warwickshire

On Friday 13th, we left Leicester for a 50-minute drive to Leek Wootton, near Warwick, to stay with Jim and Nicola Perryman. Jim was the vicar in the Lyon Anglican Church when Carolyn was between 15 and 21 years old. Jim is now the vicar for the Ashow, Leek Wootton & Stoneleigh parishes.

On Saturday, we were invited to meet some people from the Stoneleigh congregation at the annual Duck Race in Stoneleigh. We each bought a plastic duck which was numbered, before hundreds of these ducks were thrown into the river Sowe. We all waited for the ducks to pass the finishing line. Our ducks didn't win but at least we weren't the ones with water up to our waists having to fish the ducks out with fishing nets!

On Sunday, we had a long and busy day sharing about our ministry with Agapé. Carolyn talked at the 8:00am service in Leek Wootton. The rest of the family joined her for the 9:30am service where we both talked. We then drove to Stoneleigh to speak at the 11:00am service. We spent a couple of hours in the afternoon making roughly 50 "crêpes" for our "French Evening". About 10 people from the Leek Wooton and Stoneleigh churches came to get a taste of French food, drinks, and culture and hear more about our work with Agapé. We also had the pleasure of meeting an Agapé UK colleague, who works in the area.

Summer's well and truly over and the temperatures here leave no doubt that autumn is here 🍂😊. So here are a few warm memories of our summer through photos of our family life, our Church life and our ministry with Agapé France. At the beginning of July, we hosted a young Italian girl, who came to France with a group of people from a town twinned with our own. We went to see the Normandy landing beaches and the American cemetery with the group of Italians. Very impressive. We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary in July! 💞 We started celebrating with a delicious meal, before flying off a few days later for a week in Corsica, just the two of us. January-February 2025 in pictures

Here are a few photos illustrating the events that have marked our lives since the end of January. At the end of January, Rennes and the surrounding region experienced the worst flooding in forty years. There was no damage to our home, as we live on high ground, but the surrounding scenery was impressive. Sisterly cinema outing 🥰. A glimpse of a day at the office for David and Carolyn. Heading to the village of Vogüé in the Ardèche for the Agapé France National Retreat. It's a long way from Brittany, but the scenery is magnificent! The National Leadership Team met 2 days before the arrival of our other colleagues. Our families gathered to watch the Jesus film for children . All of Agapé France gets together! March to July 2024 in pictures

Time marches on and yet another school year comes to an end. Here are a few photos of some of the highlights of the last few months for our family and our ministry with Agapé. In March, Claire received a photo album covering the first 10 years of her life. Hours of work went into sorting and formatting these 140 pages. The result is great and reminds us of so many good times we've had together over the last 10 years. We had a great Easter weekend with Carolyn's brother and his wife. Our programme included beautiful celebrations in church for Good Friday and Easter Sunday, climbing trees, crafts and delicious meals. Claire's school opened its doors for their spring exhibition. We admired Claire and her classmates' beautiful creations. During the April school holidays, we enjoyed some spring activities organised in our town, and especially kayaking as a family on the lake.
