February to June 2022 in pictures

As months go by, adventures follow one another. Here is a summary in pictures of what we've been up to since February.

This is an intense year. All the more so, we need to take some time apart, as a couple, to stop, recharge our batteries and take stock of our lives. We were blessed to spend two days away together on the Ile de Noirmoutier in February.

The Digital Strategies team in Rennes welcomed Zoé at the end of January for a two-month work placement. She worked on small comics to illustrate the life of Jesus.

At the end of February, the entire Agapé France team was finally able to meet in person for our National Conference in the Ardèche region.

David was very involved in sharing news about Digital Strategies with his team, ...

... also as a member of the new National Leadership Team, ...

... and even as an Emcee (Master of Ceremonies) with his colleague Hubert and Flamingo, our mascot for this year.

At the end of March, Claire attended her first Christian camp weekend at the Centre Des Jeunes in Saint Lunaire (North Brittany). A new step to take: learning to make new friends.

Also at the end of March, David was in the Ardèche region again for a few days with the new National Leadership Team of Agapé France, in a quiet setting in the middle of nature, conducive to reflection and listening to God for the future of Agapé.

At the beginning of April, Julie had a one-week "stage de troisième", a work placement to discover the professional world. She really enjoyed her time in a computing company near our home..

In the spring, the Agapé Rennes team enjoyed finally being able to meet again without masks, after two years under Covid-19 restrictions.

During the Easter weekend, our Rennes Nord church celebrated the resurrection of Jesus, of course, but we also had a beautiful Good Friday evening celebration together to meditate on Jesus' death on the cross for us.

In May, our Agapé Rennes team decided to cook together to strengthen the team cohesion. David's small group was in charge of preparing chocolate eclairs and lemon meringue eclairs. A great success!

At the beginning of May, our church community had a weekend away with times of teaching, worship and games. After 2 years of health restrictions, it was a really good time to get to know each other a bit more.

Anna and Claire were part of a small group that had prepared a beautiful choreography.

And we enjoyed singing around the fire at nightfall.

At the end of May, we met up with David's family for a weekend of camping in tipis. Good moments of reunion in the open air!

Also at the end of May, Agapé's Digital Strategies team organised an afternoon of filming in Rennes to capture student testimonies that will be put online on the jesus.fr website. Here David is helping with the sound and light settings.

At the beginning of June, we took a day trip to the Mont Saint Michel with a Taiwanese student who stayed with us for 10 days.

June 11th was an important day for Agapé France: the official handover from Francis Didier, our National Director for the past 18 years, to the new National Leadership Team of which David is a member.

This day of celebration ended with a harp and flute concert organised by Agapé Paris. Carolyn was at the entrance to greet the audience with a smile.

June 14th was the day Julie and Anna had been waiting for: the performance of the school choir show they had been preparing since September. A magnificent tribute to Nelson Mandela in song, dance and drama.

David was able to accompany Claire on an end-of-year school trip to Saint Malo (North Brittany). On the programme: a treasure hunt in the town on the trail of privateers in the morning and a visit of an aquarium in the afternoon.

We thank our God for being by our side this semester again in all these adventures, as well as in the challenges.
Thank you to all of you who read this blog and support us with your prayers.
We wish you a blessed and restful summer.
