May - July 2018 in pictures

We were priviledged to enjoy a sunny family camping holiday beginning of May. A few peaceful days with hardly any technology and no watch.

It was wonderful to enjoy breakfast outside before it got too hot.

And lovely to make the most of nature...

... climb trees...

... meet different animals...

... but also to have a rest with a good book...

... or to enjoy a little trip to the seaside.

In May, we also dressed up to the nines for one of David's cousins wedding.

End of May, David spent a few days in Paris with Agapé France's different ministry leaders to start planning for the next (academic) year.
Here, with the Operations' leaders.

To make the trip worthwile, Agapé France's Annual General Meeting was held just afterwards.
David offered his services behind the computer screen to show the different reports and photos which accompanied a very encouraging assessment of the year 2017.

David also shared some prospects for the future for Agapé France to use digital strategies to enable the greatest number to discover, live and share the Gospel.

Beginning of June, David was invited to join a European delegation to represent the digital ministry at a gathering for the global leadership team of Agapé/Cru.
So he spent 10 days in Orlando, Florida.

A very enriching experience, just a few steps away from where dreams come true...

David didn't meet Mickey Mouse, but he did meet around 300 leaders from all over the world who came together to celebrate what God is doing through our organisation and to reflect on our objectives for the coming years.

Part of the time was spent in "small" groups, by ministry speciality.
David was with fifty odd missionaries working in digital strategies, to think about the best way to use today's digital tools to join our contemporaries on their spiritual journey.

After discussing our digital ecosystems (all our websites, digital tools and applications), we set off to explore the local ecosystem.

On board a flat-bottomed boat, propelled by an enormous ventilator, we discovered the beauty and diversity of the local flora and fauna. This was an opportunity to be inspired by parallels with our digital ecosystems.

We ran into several alligators, the alligator being the local mascot.

Another relaxing moment to enjoy the heat (after the days spent in cold air-conditionned meeting rooms) was David's discovery of golf with a few colleagues.

Back in Rennes, our team decided to finish the last prayer meeting with a barbecue.

Julie, Anna and Claire's school year also ended with the traditionnal school fête with a few songs, games for the children and of course the Breton "Galettes-saucisses" (Buckwheat pancakes with sausages).

Anna also ended her first year of harp lessons at the music school with a concert where she played with seven other harpists.

And Claire enjoyed having both her parents by her side on her last school outing.

We went to a local agricultural show.

In the mini-farm made out of straw, different animals calmly awaited the children.

The children were also captivated by the tractors and combine harvesters.

To finish, some news on our young church in the North of Rennes.

We continue to be encouraged by the international students who come to discover Jesus.
One of them decided to get baptised in June, it was the first baptism in our church.

Carolyn has been able to use her gifts by playing the piano...

... or translating the sermon into English for the non-Francophone students.

God is also amazing us by opening a lot of doors enabling us to hope we will soon have our own place to meet in, and even better, a place which will bless the neighbourhood.
We are in the process of buying a building, just next to Agapé's office.

As always, we are witnesses to God's greatness and goodness through all that He is doing in our lives, through the blessings as well as the challenges which make us grow and depend increasingly on Him.
