Agapé Campus New Year Conference

We spent last week in the Pyrenees with students, volunteers and Agapé Campus staff members from all over France for our New Year Conference. The theme this year was : "Only one truth : Good news ?". The four talks, which were great, helped us go deeper, in the light of God's Word, as to why  Jesus Christ is the Truth, and how to share the Good News around us today. Times of sharing, prayer and workshops enabled us to go further in small groups. We began each day with a time of worship, joyfully giving glory to God in song. We spent one afternoon in an old-people's home where we sang Christmas carols and chatted with the residents. It was lovely to see how much they enjoyed our presence. Some residents cried; others , who usually never speak, sang with us. Thank you Lord for enabling us to share Your love with these people. We also made the most of the mountain air on an afternoon outing of ski, sledge or hiking.And we finished 2010 and started 2011 all together with an evening of reflection on all the Lord has done for us in 2010, worship, dancing, and the sharing of good wishes for the New Year. The week was not exactly a restful one but we were happy and thankful to be able to contribute to this highlight of the year for Agapé Campus. We pray that in 2011, we might all live increasingly closer to Jesus Christ.

Another change of year since our last photos here. Here are a few photos of what the last few months have been like for our family and our ministry with Agapé France. At the end of October, we managed to get away for a romantic weekend to recharge our batteries. We didn't need to go far; Brittany is so beautiful. Also at the end of October, Julie and Anna took part in the Music'art camp, where they put on a superb, high-quality show in just one week. In November, Agapé France celebrated its 50th anniversary. The whole family took part in this beautiful celebration, reminding us of God's faithfulness. At the end of November, Carolyn celebrated one more birthday 😊. Then we started to get ready for Christmas. Anna made a magnificent and delicious "bûche de Noël". We went to meet the neighbours on the new housing estate just down the road from us, bringing them home-made Christmas biscuits. May to October 2023 in pictures

A lot has happened since our last photos on this blog at the beginning of May. Here are a few photos, which will give you a glimpse of our family life and ministry with Agapé since May. In May, we dressed up for David's cousin's wedding in the South of France. Also in May, just before leaving for her 2-month stay in Germany, Julie finished her supervised driving course and started driving our car. Two months later, in mid-July, we met up again with Julie in Germany (here at Felsenmeer or 'the sea of rocks'). And the 5 of us set off for England for our grand tour of the island. Of course, the highlights of our trip were the good times spent with ministry partners and family, but we also enjoyed the English landscapes... ... good meals... ... discovering Swing Ball... ... playing in various parks... ... visiting Warwick Castle... ... and Durham Cathedral... ... where scenes from the Harry Potter films were shot (fans will recognise the places 😊). March and April 2023 in pictures

What an adventure it has been for our family and our ministry since the beginning of the year! Here is a photo overview of the highlights of the last 2 months. At the beginning of March, we welcomed Luna to our home for 5 weeks. She is Julie's German penfriend. At the end of May, Julie will go to Germany for 8 weeks with Luna. At the end of March, the Agapé France National Leadership Team met in Brittany for 3 days of spiritual retreat and planning together. Also at the end of March, the Agapé Rennes team had a morning of team building to strengthen our relationships and learn to collaborate in a different and creative way. As a team, we had to prepare a meal with a limited budget and imposed ingredients (1 fruit and 1 cheese in each dish). Carolyn was on the starter team and David on the main course. On Easter Day, our Rennes Nord church had a wonderful open-air celebration with 7 baptisms. There were nearly 200 people, almost half of whom were invited by the baptised. Lots of sun
