We hope you had a good summer. We enjoyed a week's spiritual retreat as a couple in July, in a very quiet manor in the middle of a forest. It was a good time to recharge our batteries with God and take a step back from the hustle and bustle. We also celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary with delicious crêpes. We had the pleasure of visiting several of our ministry partners, mostly in the South East of France. This was an opportunity to discover the French Riviera for a few days. Saint-Tropez: the contrast of a pretty little village with a harbour full of huge oversized yachts.  The beautiful calanques along the coast to Cannes.  The old town of Nice and its outstanding Promenade des Anglais. After the heat and crowds of the south, we enjoyed the cooler Savoie and Haute-Savoie, the wide open spaces, the beautiful landscapes with lakes, streams and waterfalls, the views of Mont Blanc.  Reading time in front of a laboratory in Haute-Savoie in the long queue for a Covid test. In February, Carolyn, Julie, Anna and Claire really enjoyed helping the children of the CADA (centre for asylum seekers) in Rennes to paint a large fresco on the wall of one of their kitchens to brighten up their daily lives. At home, Anna continues to take care of her babies Cracotte and Noisette (our two guinea pigs). End of February, they tried out their little travel bag to spend a weekend with David's family in the Vendée. During this family weekend, we were able to go for a long walk, some of us riding donkeys. David continues his regular father-daughter outings, whenever possible. With the Spring weather, cycling in nature was much appreciated. We are also grateful that we have a park nearby which allows us to have occasional picnics during our lunch break. After the third lockdown in April, what a joy to be able to take a trip to the seaside again in May. Not so enjoyable, after a year of dealing with water leaks and completely redoing our bathroom in 2020, 2021 is the year

On 21st September, Julie officially became a teenager, celebrating her 13th birthday. She continues to shine with her radiant smile 😊 . Since September, we (David and Carolyn) have been taking part in a Bible training course with our church every other Saturday morning. Given the restrictions on meeting together, this is what it's like. Look familiar? Julie and Anna were delighted to join others in creating a hand-written Bible, each illustrating a book of the New Testament, a project launched by the French Biblical Alliance ( la Bible Manuscrite ). End of November, Carolyn also joyfully celebrated another year 🎂. In December, after a few "incidents", we were able to get ready for Christmas by decorating the house (with the beautiful cards we received), baking Christmas biscuits, and revisiting the biblical stories around the birth of Jesus. We spent Christmas with David's family. A joyful and much awaited reunion! As has now become our family tradition (and not bec
