The last two months have been eventful for our family and our ministry with Agapé France. Here is an overview in pictures. At the end of August, Julie moved into her room near Paris, ready to start classes in early September at the Sorbonne University on two different campuses for science and German. Claire's first day at "collège". And first day at "lycée" for Anna. Claire has also returned to the basketball courts for the second year running. Start-of-the-year meal for Agapé's Digital Team. The Agapé Rennes team enjoyed its traditional back-to-school day at the seaside. 😎. This year, we made a little detour to Dinard to discover the new Agapé Hub. Mid-September, we enjoyed a short weekend away as a couple north of Lyon for the wedding of one of Carolyn's childhood friends. 18 years old! That's something to celebrate! 🎊 Julie opened her present via video chat. But her friends in Paris organised a crêpe party to celebrate "for real". Dav...

Here are a few photos to give you a flavour of what we've been up to this summer. On 12 July, the Tour de France passed just a few kilometres from where we live. It was a great experience to see the advertising caravan go by for 30 minutes and then the peloton of bikes for 30 seconds 😃. We counted over 500 vehicles preceding and following the cyclists! Mid-July, we gathered in Lyon with Carolyn's family to celebrate her parents' 50th wedding anniversary. We discovered how skilled Claire was at pétanque 🙂. We then joined our colleagues from Agapé Europe in Berlin. There were around 2000 of us gathered to be inspired to reflect the love of Jesus together in Europe. We spent two of the week's sessions in a small booth to translate the speeches from English into French for our colleagues who were more comfortable listening in their mother tongue. One afternoon, some of us went for a march for peace in the streets of Berlin, handing out little white flags to passers-by. Ou...

Here's a snapshot of the last few months with the Violleau family. At the end of March, David spent a week in Birmingham, England's second city, working on a project with colleagues from several European countries. Did you know that there are more canals in Birmingham than in Venice? In March, Julie passed her driving test. Parents can now sit in the back! 😃 In April, we started our sabbatical. To start with, David caught up with a few tasks around the house: Chopping and storing wood for the winter... ... trimming the hedges... ... and repotting a few plants. It was nice to spend more time outside. We installed a trampoline in the garden to let off steam after school. It's a real hit! Rail bike trip during the school holidays 🚴🚂: 2 hours of pedalling through the beautiful Breton countryside on a railway track. Great family fun! Our Church hall was full to celebrate Easter. In May, we had a wonderful week of spiritual retreat in the tiny village of Entrepierres, near Sis...
