Here's a snapshot of the last few months with the Violleau family. At the end of March, David spent a week in Birmingham, England's second city, working on a project with colleagues from several European countries. Did you know that there are more canals in Birmingham than in Venice? In March, Julie passed her driving test. Parents can now sit in the back! 😃 In April, we started our sabbatical. To start with, David caught up with a few tasks around the house: Chopping and storing wood for the winter... ... trimming the hedges... ... and repotting a few plants. It was nice to spend more time outside. We installed a trampoline in the garden to let off steam after school. It's a real hit! Rail bike trip during the school holidays 🚴🚂: 2 hours of pedalling through the beautiful Breton countryside on a railway track. Great family fun! Our Church hall was full to celebrate Easter. In May, we had a wonderful week of spiritual retreat in the tiny village of Entrepierres, near Sis...

Here are a few photos illustrating the events that have marked our lives since the end of January. At the end of January, Rennes and the surrounding region experienced the worst flooding in forty years. There was no damage to our home, as we live on high ground, but the surrounding scenery was impressive. Sisterly cinema outing 🥰. A glimpse of a day at the office for David and Carolyn. Heading to the village of Vogüé in the Ardèche for the Agapé France National Retreat. It's a long way from Brittany, but the scenery is magnificent! The National Leadership Team met 2 days before the arrival of our other colleagues. Our families gathered to watch the Jesus film for children . All of Agapé France gets together! Carolyn was a happy member of the worship team. Photo opportunity for the Digital team. And a short break for a magnetic table football game. Thank you, Lord, for all these moments lived in your presence.

That's it, 2024 is over and 2025 is well under way! Here are the highlights of the last few weeks for our family. We were delighted to sing Christmas carols with the residents of the nursing home where Carolyn works, accompanied on the guitar by our pastor. For Christmas, Anna continued to develop her pastry-making skills by preparing a delicious praline and hazelnut Yule log. We spent Christmas with David's family in the Vendée. As always, it was a time of joy and good food. We stayed home for New Year's Eve. It was a good time to take stock of 2024 and share our aspirations for 2025, while enjoying the fine dishes prepared together. Like every year, January means birthdays to celebrate. Anna turned 15 🎉 Claire celebrated her 11th birthday 🎈, with her brand new (and imposing! 😉 ) Stitch slippers on her feet! Another way for Claire to get the year off to a good start was to exercise her creativity by taking part in a competition organised by her magazine Astrapi: she mad...
